This thing can take a beating and then some

Ok to start, I have been waiting to get my hands on this thing since AGF/ballistic first showed pictures of it on their website. I got mine today, and put it on. It is really easy to install, and the plastic back cover is optional. It is not bulky at all, and if you are concerned about the corners being really big like the pictures portrait, don't worry because they aren't. Firrrrrst thing I did as soon as I put it on is give it the test. My test for a case is simple, I threw my iPad on my tile floor. It did not even make a scary sound, let alone damage the case or the iPad!!! I trust ballistic because I did that same test with the HC series case on my iPhone 4 when I first got that, in fact with that I threw it about 20 feet in the air and it landed on concrete with not even a scratch. This case is no different, it protects the iPad beautifully. I can literally bounce my iPad on hard floor with no worries. The only thing I wish the company did was include some sort of screen guard with the case. I bought the red and black version which looks awesome, it is definitely a well designed good looking case on top of its awesome protection. I must look crazy saying that I threw my iPad, but I have nothing but faith in ballistic for protecting my stuff. I would def recommend this case to everyone. If you let kids play with your iPad, then this is a no brainer, case = $70 bucks, fixing screen on broken iPad = $250 +. Not a big fan of the plastic back shield kickstand thingy, and I leave it off, but I guess it might have some value to people who like propping there iPad up to view movies or whatnot.
Pros: super durable, easy to put on, looks really nice, price is not that bad at all when you compare it to other iPad 2 cases on the market.
Cons: none so far, but I will continually be extra reckless with my iPad in order to push this things limits.
I love this thing, I hate babying electronics and lays worrying about dropping it. And if you know yourself to fall asleep with your iPad, and occasionally wake up with it on the floor, or across the room (like I do). Then this is for you. No part of the iPad except the corners ca n ever touch and part of any surface it drops on. Perfect for us crazy insomniacs who pass out while trying to read anything we can just to do it.
Buy it, and don't look back.... Oh and if you wanna compare this to the other box, don't... I have that one too... And I know a place tht fixes these things and iPhones, otter box fails in protection more often than you would think.

I bought this case after owning a Otterbox Defender which was bulky, poor fitting, and had a ridiculous fitting charging port cover. I took that back after a day and bought the Incase w/matching leather smart cover, I really like this cover but it didn't provide much in the way of protection. I really wanted something that has a good protection level without being super bulky, that's when I ran across this Ballistic cover on Amazon (also was a Prime item!) The price seemed almost too good! As with the other reviewer, case goes on easy without reading directions and fits absolutely perfect, all buttons work well and charging port is accessible. Corner bumpers do not seem to be as big as in the picture. Cover is nice for covering the screen, and can be used on the back with the stand. You can flip your iPad 2 around and have a lower angle for tying (as long as your not applying too much force that is). I have 5 kids who play games on my iPad, I use it in the kitchen for recipes, and take it with me daily for errands and appointments. I needed very good protection with minimum bulk, I feel very confident this case will protect my iPad from any mishaps. My recommendation is to buy it, you will not be disappointed.

fits new iPad

I have the new iPad (aka iPad 3). I was worried that ordering this product may not fit. However, it fits like a glove.
